Giving it all – Soul Asylum 7th Street Entry

There is an expression that the difference between a good photographer and a great one, is that the the great one will never let you see the bad shots he took.

In most cases, I am a good photographer. I’ll let slide some of the bad shots if I think there is enough behind them to do so. Shooting in the entry was tough. Mostly because my camera was the last thing I was thinking about. I was there to see and hear music. I was there to spend time with great people. I was in the entry watching Soul Asylum. Truth is, my camera was a nuisance that night.

I did give some photos a try. I was on a stripped rig. Nothing but my 50mm. Standing halfway back in the middle….. and of course…. I really did not care. The music came first….my art was not even a consideration.

So in ‘good photographer ‘ fashion, here are some shots that captured great emotion….. and would have been outstanding had there been a care about anything besides who I was with….. and who I was hearing.
