Welcome to my world.

Not literally of course, but bits and pieces of it captured in fractions of time. It is here where I take those moments place them all together.

I have always had a passion for pictures in one form or another. Movies, photography, large format and small..... I have found fascination and appreciation for this medium most of my adult life. I did not, however, act on it.

A little over a year ago, my wife had purchased a digital SLR camera for me as an anniversary gift. A nikon D60. A very nice, compact and capable camera set up for the hobbyist and casual photog. I was sure this would be more than enough for me to go out and take great pictures and capture family events.
The problem? It was.... and then some.

Serinity

On a warm summer afternoon, a mother and her three children sit quietly by the lake of the isles throwing bread to a small gathering of ducks.

Sometimes, images unfold for you …. the only difficult thing about taking this photograph was to not be intrusive on their family time.

Anyway, I complimented you on a beautiful family portrait and wondered if they posed for you or if you simply waited to capture the right moment?

I’ve also been scrolling down to see your other posts. I really like those magnificent night shots, and the river scene is excellent, too (nice going slowing down the shutter speed!)…

This is a truly beautiful family portrait, Dan! Very, very nice. Did they pose for you or were you just there ready to catch the moment?

I’ve been scrolling down through your photos…you’ve got so many beautiful shots…the night scenes are magnificent as it the river photo (nice going there slowing down the shutter speed)!
